I don't mean back to work work, I mean back to bug-fixing, learning, sketching in the evenings on what I enjoy.
I moved away from freelance gigs to work full-time in the industry just over six months ago and I'm only just now beginning to get back into working in the evening on things I enjoy. Of course recent events (COVID-19) mean that I'm spending a lot more time indoors with a lot of free time.
At the moment my focus is on WeRoster and bug fixing to support old clients.
However, I have been toying with an idea I had while in a conversation with Mum. She works in a restaurant that's been forced to close by the recent government restrictions on non-essential businesses lasting at least four weeks. They aren't even allowed to setup a delivery service in the meantime. And As this affects all cafés, restaurants, bars across New Zealand (and much of the world) I thought there might be potential for an online ordering software-as-a-service. Of the course existing servies spring to mind: Uber, Just Eat, Deliveroo, etc. are focussed on servicing city-based restaurants. They aren't viable in small towns or even small cities.
Once I've made a bit more progress here I'd like to write up some thoughts around this.
